New retail projects specialist appointed

New retail projects specialist appointed

Bayleys Auckland Central recently increased its retail sales and leasing team with the appointment of Jan Hutcheson as retail projects specialist.

Retail team leader Ed Donald says Hutcheson’s appointment to Bayleys adds weight to the experienced network of retail sales and leasing consultants working throughout Auckland and in Bayleys’ national offices, further expanding the reach of the retail team.

“We are looking to measure the needs and wants of our major national retail clients with regards their market presence and business strategies and to mesh these with opportunities that become available throughout our regional offices.”

Hutcheson has more than two decades of retail and commercial property experience both in New Zealand and Australia. As leasing manager for Symphony Projects, she spearheaded the successful leasing of the Albany City project with Stage One fully-leased to high profile bulk retail home-related tenancies and strong commitment gained for Stage Two, the Gateway Convenience Retail Centre.

Prior to this, Hutcheson worked as the leasing manager for high-profile retailer Beds ‘R’ Us both in New Zealand and Australia adding to her experience already accumulated as a successful portfolio and property manager, and commercial property broker.

“Jan’s ability to walk the line between lessor and tenant and to see possibilities beyond the obvious - whether it is sourcing potential sites, design concepts, project and property management and most significantly her sales and marketing ability - has seen her build and maintain a strong network within the industry,” Donald said.

“Jan will work closely with our retail specialists throughout Bayleys’ 57 New Zealand offices to identify opportunities and come up with timely and savvy solutions for developers, landlords and tenants.”
