DraftFCB Media Wins CAANZ Media Awards Best in Show

Precise marrying of message and moment in a campaign that saw outstanding business results delivered for Whitcoulls has won DraftFCB Media the CAANZ Media Awards Best in Show.

A television campaign linking book recommendations to specific TV programming turned the tide for Whitcoulls’ book sales and created cut-through in the cluttered Christmas advertising market. DraftFCB Media also won Best Use of Television, Best Response/Return on Investment and the coveted Best in Show award for this work.

Held tonight at Auckland’s Hyatt Regency Hotel, the CAANZ Media Awards acknowledge and reward the best strategic insights in the media industry.

Media Agency of the Year was awarded to SparkPHD in recognition of its achievements in retaining and growing its client base while implementing innovative changes in the face of a challenging market.

In their entry, Spark PHD said the secret to their success was its people. The agency team understood the need to focus on protecting and growing existing client relationships and offer extended services such as digital, PR, events and activation.

The Media Brand of the Year award was won by MSN NZ, who changed the face of online advertising in New Zealand during 2009. They did this by following a three-prong strategy to grow audience, improve audience engagement for advertisers and launch a performance network that has provided unmatched transparency for agencies and advertisers.
