Fairfax appoints new NZ House & Garden editor

Fairfax Magazines has announced Sally Duggan as the new editor of NZ House & Garden.

Sally has been the associate editor on the magazine – New Zealand’s leading home title - since joining the company 15 months ago. The current editor, Kate Coughlan, will remain with NZ House & Garden as editorial director. Kate will continue to edit NZ Life & Leisure and take up an editorial director role for Fairfax Magazines. She will work closely with general manager, Lynley Belton, on editorial development across the division’s portfolio.

Before joining NZ House & Garden, Sally had a highly successful career in magazine journalism, having worked as writer, editor and publisher across a range of home, food and current affairs titles.

She said she felt honoured by her appointment: “NZ House & Garden holds a very special place in the magazine landscape. It is loved by readers nationwide, and is a fantastically positive magazine; one that celebrates the diversity of style and lifestyle in our country.”

In the latest round of magazine circulation results NZ House & Garden is one of only two titles in the home category to show increasing circulation. NZ House & Garden is showing increased retail and subscription sales (with total circulation increasing to *47,600 copies a month) and, with more than **half a million readers each month, the magazine remains the clear market leader in the home category.

Sally’s first issue as editor is the April issue, on sale March 22.
