New appointments at MTA

New appointments at MTA


The Motor Trade Association (MTA) has completed the restructure of its management team that began late November 2009, with the appointment of a further General Manager and a Web and Communications Manager. The restructuring was undertaken as part of MTA’s strategic plan through to 2015.

Gavin Still (MBA Massey University, BMS University of Waikato) joins MTA as Member Benefits General Manager. Gavin brings a wealth of experience from the financial services sector, having held positions with a number of large corporate entities such as FMG Insurance Group, Guardian Trust, Kiwi Bank and UDC. This new role will see Gavin taking responsibility for MTA’s field operations, branded product development and sales, as well as the delivery of benefits and services for MTA’s 4,000 Members.

Gavin joins existing members of the Executive team; CEO - Stephen Matthews, Chief Financial Officer - Kaetrin Stephenson, Advocacy and Training General Manager - Dougal Morrison and Marketing and Communications General Manager - Ian Stronach.

Ian Stronach has moved from Marketing Manager, a position he held since joining MTA nearly nine years ago, to this new role which sees him taking overall responsibility for MTA’s media, communications and events activity; he is also retains his responsibilities for product and corporate marketing.

Ian is joined by Ana Zandi, Web and Communications Manager. Ana comes to MTA with extensive experience in the fields of marketing, events, communications, and media relations. Ana has worked with several large entities within the private and public sector - both locally and overseas Ana will be taking responsibility for MTA’s communication activity and media relations.
