Nature Coast CEO resigns
Nature Coast Enterprise CEO Glen O’Brien has resigned and will finish on 26 March.
Chairman Graham Smellie said Mr O’Brien told the board five years in the role was always the plan and he felt it was
time for a new challenge. He is moving to Melbourne to live with his partner and son and will seek employment
opportunities in due course.
Clearly there have been a number highlights during his tenure including a $1.96 million government contract for the
textile industry, a successful bid to outfit the team and officials at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and a three year
regional economic development and tourism services contract with both Kapiti and Horowhenua District Councils during a
difficult economic climate. Through this contract he has led tourism and business development teams to achieve a number
of business growth initiatives.
He is proud of his team and their contribution to business sustainability and growth within the region.
Mr Smellie said the board would consider the future CEO role over the coming weeks.
