Sharp Electricity Pricing Offer for Dunedin Custom
Sharp Electricity Pricing Offer for Dunedin Customers
Competition in the retail electricity
sector in Dunedin heated up this week with the announcement
from Genesis Energy that it is actively seeking new
customers in the region.
The electricity generator/retailer is offering a retail electricity price that is around $210 per year cheaper than Contact. The company has also pledged to hold its prices for Dunedin residents until at least February 2011.
Genesis Energy General Manager Retail, Dean Carroll, said the widely advertised price offer was a clear demonstration that competition is alive and well in the electricity market. The company intends to roll out competitive electricity prices to other regions of the South Island in the immediate future.
“With the likely ownership of two South Island hydro-electric stations ahead of us, Genesis Energy is keen to share the competitive benefits of having a new generator-retailer in the region with South Island consumers,” Mr Carroll said.
As well as offering cheaper power, Genesis Energy is also offering Dunedin customers who use LPG for heating and cooking a sharp deal by providing a free annual rental of an LPG bottle, worth around $100 per annum.
Customers wishing to take up Genesis Energy’s competitive pricing can do so by grabbing their latest power bill and making one phone call to 0800 110 000 or visiting http://www.genesisenergy.co.nz/switch.
