The Search is On for Office 2010 ‘Road Warriors’
Top salespeople invited to apply for audition and four-month contract
AUCKLAND, New Zealand — 2 Feb., 2010 — Think you’ve got what it takes to be a Microsoft Office 2010 Road Warrior? If you do, a four-month contract and a great paycheck could be yours as part of a new campaign to deliver the Microsoft Office 2010 message to New Zealand businesses.
Beginning today the search is on for five Road Warriors to work at Ingram Micro and Express Data supporting sales of Microsoft Office 2010.
The mission: to each visit 200 medium-sized businesses around the country to champion the benefits of the upcoming Office 2010 productivity suite, while sharing their experience with others via social media. The position comes with sales targets and a frenetic pace, but for the right salesperson, it’s a chance to sweep up a plum contract and demonstrate their abilities to a national audience while working alongside leading technology vendors.
Applicants should be sales-oriented with excellent presentation skills and a strong passion for business or consumer technology. Experience or gravitas in the technology sector is a key factor, as is a command of social media tools.
Applications close 18 February. Select individuals will then be invited to a briefing session on the afternoon of 22 February to receive more information about the role and an overview of Office 2010. On Tuesday 2 March, candidates will lead presentations before a panel of judges at the Microsoft offices in Auckland to determine the five Road Warriors.
“This is a new approach and Microsoft New Zealand is pleased to be able to support this programme to inform Kiwi businesses how they could make staff more productive,” says Jared Pedersen, SMB Sales & Marketing Manager for Microsoft New Zealand. “We want to provide a fun, personalised way for customers to find out more about the innovation in Office 2010, and with the Road Warrior programme, we’re starting to get out there and do just that. It’s a tremendous opportunity for the right person.”
Businesses with 40 or more PC users interested in having a Road Warrior visit their operation should register their interest early. Visit www.microsoft.co.nz/roadwarriors to submit a request form and schedule a presentation between March and July this year.
Candidates can find more information and an application pack at www.microsoft.co.nz/roadwarriors. While the role is sales-focused, the Road Warriors’ primary responsibilities will be to lead presentations and document their experience, relying on reseller partners to close sales and implement software installations or upgrades.
