SBS Bank to relocate to new TGH investment in
CBD
Tainui Group Holdings (TGH) has
announced a $1 million refurbishment of the retail units on
the corner of Victoria and Bryce Streets in the Hamilton
CBD.
SBS Bank is delighted to announce that it will be relocating its Hamilton branch to the refurbished building as the anchor tenant, occupying half of the site with the corner position.
Two fashion outlets, including Issues for Men, will occupy two smaller stores on Victoria Street.
TGH Chief Executive Officer, Mike Pohio, said the project was one of several that TGH was considering in central Hamilton.
“We are particularly pleased to be a part of the regeneration of this part of the city. It also adds to TGH’s significant investment in the Hamilton CBD,” he said.
SBS Bank Chief Executive, Ross Smith, said moving to a bigger premises was a reflection of SBS Bank’s commitment and dedication to the people of Waikato who had supported them.

SBS Bank Hamilton Manager, Nicki Bennett, said the relocation later this year was going to be a fantastic 10-year anniversary present for the Hamilton team and all their loyal customers.
“Since opening in Hamilton in December 2000, we have continued to experience solid growth to the point we have simply outgrown our current premises. It’s going to be out of this world to be able to offer improved surrounds in a high profile area to our valued customers.
“Features of the additional space will include a larger waiting area with comfy couches, additional interview rooms for personal appointments, secure teller counters, increased storage, fresh new décor and, of course, the usual fantastic SBS Bank service and hot coffee waiting for anyone who pops in,” Ms Bennett said.
Issues for Men owner, Sue Marryatt, said they were pleased to retain their tenancy in the central location of the CBD.
Mr Pohio said consent applications would be applied for in late January with the aim of starting construction as soon as possible after consents have been approved. It is hoped to have the tenants operating in their new stores by the middle of the year.
