Pacific Blue Ends 2009 On High Note
Pacific Blue Ends 2009 On High Note With 96.5%
Domestic On-Time Performance For
December
Thursday 14 January 2010:
Pacific Blue finished 2009 with one of its best ever on-time
performance results, with 96.5% of domestic flights
departing on time during December.
Pacific Blue CEO, Mark Pitt, said the figure was a very positive result during one of the airline’s busiest times of the year.
“The holiday season is always hectic with many full flights, so it’s great to be reporting an on-time performance result for December that exceeds 96%.”
The airline said it had achieved an average monthly domestic on-time performance result of 92.3% during 2009.
“For 11 of the 12 months the airline achieved domestic on-time performance of 90% or higher,” Mr Pitt added.
Pacific Blue was the first New Zealand domestic airline to publicly report its on-time performance figures and has been publishing the data regularly on its website since July 2009, with data going back to January 2009.
On-time is counted as flights that depart within 15 minutes of their scheduled departure time. Pacific Blue makes no exceptions for bad weather, air traffic control, delays from suppliers, unscheduled maintenance, consequences of previous delays or anything else.
