Will Santa bring business success in 2010?

Will Santa bring business success in 2010?

All we want for Christmas is business success…that was the festive catch cry for local businesses who gathered to celebrate the holiday season and ask Santa for a prosperous New Year.

More than 140 North Shore business people gathered at the ‘North Pole’, usually known as North Harbour Stadium, at the first annual Enterprise North Shore (ENS) Christmas celebration.

Enterprise North Shore chief executive Terry Hoskins says the celebration was to acknowledge the resilience of local enterprises and to celebrate the belief that economic confidence is returning to North Shore businesses. “It’s been a tumultuous 18 months for many and now that world economies seems to be improving, North Shore businesses are anticipating they will see payoffs and growth at a local level next year.

“It’s fantastic to see so many enterprises, many of whom incorporated our Committed Optimist campaign into their survival strategies, progressing through the difficult times and who are ready to grow their businesses even further.”

Presentations were made during the evening as part of ENS’s business mentor programme to Enterprise North Shore business mentor of the year, Ken Noble and the Rodney business mentor of the year, Graeme Newton.

Officially launched at the event was the new Enterprise North Shore Club – a free membership offering discounted ENS services, prize draws, special offers, members only newsletter and much more. An inaugural member of the year award was made to Andrew Harris from Blackcat Consulting.

Clients, mentors, sponsors, partner agencies, business awards judges and local businesses who’ve crossed paths with Enterprise North Shore this year were amongst the Christmas party goers who, in true festive spirit, were sporting Santa hats and reindeer horns.
