Upsurge in holiday home bookings
Upsurge in holiday home bookings as kiwis opt for shorter holiday breaks
According to Leslie Preston, General Manager and founder of Bachcare, the number of New Zealanders looking for short-term holiday home rentals and affordable holiday options has increased notably compared to the same time last year.
Recession-cautious kiwis unwilling to give up their traditional summer holiday are opting for shorter breaks this summer, according to Bachcare Holiday Homes. And the trend to shorter breaks has seen an upsurge in holiday home bookings at most of NZ’s popular holiday resorts.
According to Leslie Preston, General Manager and founder of Bachcare, the number of New Zealanders looking for short-term holiday home rentals and affordable holiday options has increased notably compared to the same time last year.
“What has changed this summer is that we are seeing more and more bookings for fewer nights. Kiwis still want to get away from it all, not just to recharge the batteries but to also spend quality time with their families. Rather than take the traditional long summer holiday, kiwis are opting for short, sweet breaks,” says Leslie.
Bachcare is NZ’s leading national full service holiday home rental and management company, managing nearly 1000 holiday homes throughout NZ.
“We have experienced a 25% lift in the number of bookings for the upcoming peak summer season for our range of holiday homes compared to this time last year, combined with a 10% decline in the total average dollar of the booking. This highlights the shorter breaks that guests are taking this season.” says Leslie Preston
As the weather improves and with fewer kiwis travelling overseas, the trend looks set to continue. Said Preston, “With summer just around the corner, avoid the disappointment of missing out on your choice of rental holiday home and book your holiday break now.”
And, if you are a holiday home owner considering renting your holiday home, you are not too late to enjoy this upturn in number of summer bookings. Just register your holiday home on www.bachcare.co.nz.
