CTU Welcomes Pay Increase for Auckland Bus Drivers

CTU media release

CTU Welcomes Pay Increase for Auckland Bus Drivers

The CTU has welcomed the decision of the Combined Unions to ratify the settlement of their collective agreement with NZ Bus.

Peter Conway, CTU Secretary, said that this was always a decision that it was up to the workers affected to decide and it has brought to an end a long-running and difficult dispute.

Peter Conway says that “this settlement also shows the determination of low paid workers to have their concerns addressed”.

“The CTU would like to particularly thank Mike Lee, Chair of the Auckland Regional Council, for his assistance in resolving this dispute. Mike Lee and also the Board of ARTA played a crucial role in achieving today’s outcome and this should be acknowledged”.
