DairyNZ Directors’ Election Results

New Zealand dairy farmers have voted to retain sitting DairyNZ directors Alistair Body and Barbara Kuriger on the board of their industry good organisation. A third position, created by the retirement of long-standing industry good director Jim van der Poel has been filled by Kevin Ferris.

Kevin is a Te Awamutu dairy farmer, who also owns a farm in Southland and he is a Fonterra Shareholders Councillor.

DairyNZ chairman John Luxton says “I welcome Kevin to the board. As was noted at Jim van der Poel’s farewell earlier this week, Kevin has some very big boots to fill. He will create a useful linkage with the Fonterra Shareholders Council, and also be able to represent the interests of farmers in Waikato and Southland.

“I would like to particularly thank Jim van der Poel for his tremendous contribution to industry good over the last 10 years, both as a director and chairman of our predecessor organisation Dexcel, and also as a director of DairyNZ since its inception in November 2007,” says Mr Luxton.
