SBS Bank cheers on Makos final march

SBS Bank cheers on Makos final march for 2009 campaign

SBS Bank is joining supporters in cheering on the Tasman Makos for a big finish to their 2009 Air New Zealand Cup campaign.

General manager corporate performance Lana Winders said as principal sponsor of the Tasman Makos since their inception, the team at SBS Bank knew there was a lot of community and regional pride behind the Makos.

“The Makos are a great bunch of athletes who have shown tremendous commitment to their supporters both on and off the field during the season. That is why it has been great to partner and support the team back through our Makos Investment Special again this season.”

The SBS Bank Makos Investment Special was reintroduced at the start of the Air New Zealand Cup season, following the success and support of last year’s limited edition special. The banking package offers a choice of fixed term investments with a competitive interest rate for investors. This is coupled with a special payment to the Tasman Makos on every dollar invested.

Mrs Winders said the special offer was another way SBS Bank could financially support the Makos giving investors in Nelson and Marlborough a chance to bolster the coffers of the Tasman Rugby Union (TRU).

“We see it as extremely important for young players coming up through the grades to continue to aspire to play at top level with the support of their community. That is why we join the Makos supporters in saying good luck for their final games in the 2009 season.”
