Times will be taken down to the millisecond and the fastest texter overall will become the New Zealand TXT Champion.

Texters of all ages are eligible to enter both events to win hundreds of spot prizes however the backstage Southern Amp Grand Prize is limited to ages 15+. The winner will also have the chance to text off against Elliot Nicholls the non-competing Guinness World Record holder for texting blindfolded.

In the name of creativity there will also be an exclusive prize for the 360th fastest texter.

Director of Texsys, Adam Hutchinson says, “We’re very excited about this competition because New Zealanders are prolific texters – in New Zealand, mobile phone ownership has a market penetration rate of 110 percent.
