Grand Opening: Michael Hill store in Auckland
:
Thursday 8 October 2009
The flagship store for
Michael Hill at 44 Queen St, Auckland will hold their Gala
store opening tomorrow (Thursday 8 October) to celebrate
their stylish new fit-out. The store has held the same
location since 1971 and has become a landmark for the area.
Queen Street Manager, James Hannaford says guests at Thursday’s opening will enjoy viewing the new store listening to the sound of Cachaca Duo while finalists from popular television show NZ’s Next Top Model show off some of Michael Hill’s most striking jewellery from the latest collections.
“As the original high-end retailer in this part of Queen Street, we’re delighted to be delivering a contemporary shopping experience to our customers. Our exquisite jewellery and timepieces are exceptionally showcased in this sophisticated new environment. Buying jewellery just got even more exciting!” says Michael Hill.
Award winning Queensland based architects and interior designers Inarc designed the store concept with a strong emphasis on enhancing the customer experience and presenting the jewellery, fine gems and timepieces in an attractive, accessible manner.
“It’s important to move with the retail environment. As our customers evolve so too must we. This new store design has become the benchmark for all stores going forward”, states Michael Hill.
Michael Hill floated on the New Zealand stock exchange in 1987 and has been a dominant force in the jewellery industry ever since. From humble beginnings with just one store in Whangarei, Michael Hill now has over 250 stores in four countries throughout New Zealand, Australia, Canada and the United States. Michael Hill’s long term plan is to upgrade all of the 250 Michael Hill stores worldwide to provide a better shopping experience for customers.
