New Chairman For Deloitte
Ross Milne has been appointed the new chairman at professional services firm, Deloitte New Zealand. Ross is a senior tax partner in Deloitte’s Tax practice, and is based in the Auckland office. He has been with Deloitte for 16 years and has particular expertise advising clients in the manufacturing, retail, distribution and property sectors. Ross has also led the firm’s mid-market practice for the past four years.
In his new role, Ross chairs the Deloitte Board of Partners and will be responsible for the governance of the firm. He has been a member of the firm’s Board since 2002 and said he was “honoured” to take on the new challenge of the chairman’s role.
“I’ll be focused on working with my fellow board members and partners as we look to continue building on the success Deloitte has enjoyed in New Zealand for a number of years.”
Announcing the appointment, Deloitte chief executive Murray Jack said the appointment was straightforward.
“Ross is a highly respected partner at Deloitte and is regarded as having a very clear view of the firm’s strategies, our responsibilities to our clients and the wider capital markets, and the issues that are important to partners. I’m sure he will do an excellent job and I’m looking forward to working with him in his new role.”
Ross steps into the shoes of Nick Main who stepped down as chairman last month to take on a London-based secondment as global managing partner of climate change and sustainability services for Deloitte Touche Tomatsu.
