Sponsor, Top Energy believes the Tall Poppy Business Awards offer the Far North community a unique opportunity to
recognise and celebrate business excellence across the region. This is especially poignant in 2009, as businesses have
struggled against the recessionary effects of the global financial meltdown for some time.
Said Top Energy Group Chairman, Paul Byrnes, “The last few years have been difficult for business operators. But the
critical business analysis, which is key part of our Tall Poppy Business Awards entry process, will show the
organizations represented here tonight have continued their excellent business practices. They have shown remarkable
reliance against the effects of the global financial crisis. The good news is that they’re now well positioned to take
advantage of the improving economy, and the better times to come. I applaud all Far North businesses which entered the
Awards this year and to those of you who have won Awards and will be honored here tonight, Congratulations”.
