Bridgeman Lockout Ends

Bridgeman Lockout Ends

Media Release
National Distribution Union
Wednesday 23 September 2009

The NDU has reached agreement with Bridgeman Concrete today that settles the Collective Agreement and sees Bridgman lift the more than week long lock-out of its workers.

The new agreement resolves the impasse on redundancy selection criteria that had been at the centre of the dispute.

Both sides reached agreement with the assistance of the Mediation Service of the Department of Labour.

The NDU acknowledges that it made some inflammatory statements regarding Bridgeman during the dispute. It apologises for any offence that the company may have taken from these statements and looks forward to a more cooperative relationship between the company and the union in the future.
