Haywards Substation
Transpower advises that there has been an electrical fault at Haywards Substation late this morning.
Chief Executive Patrick Strange said that there has been no interruption to power supply.
“As a precautionary measure, the site has been evacuated. There is a small fire on site which is being attended to by the fire service.” “There were no injuries on site as a result of the electrical fault.” “We’ll continue to keep people updated with any developments,” he said.
Transpower New Zealand Limited is the State-Owned Enterprise that plans, builds, maintains and operates New Zealand’s high voltage electricity transmission network – the National Grid. The Grid links electricity generators to distribution (lines) companies and major industrial users.
