New NBA chief executive officer appointed

The National Beekeepers Association (NBA) of New Zealand today announced the joint appointment of Daniel Paul and Gemma Collier as chief executive officers (CEO) of the Association.

The role will be shared by both Mr Paul and Ms Collier, who are based in Wellington at public relations and strategic communications consultancy, Four Winds Communications (FWC).

Mr Paul said he was excited about the opportunities the new appointment will bring.

“Bee colonies are absolutely critical to the future of New Zealand’s agri- and horticultural sectors but, unfortunately, the beekeeping industry faces a number of very significant challenges.

“Addressing these issues with the help of a variety of stakeholders within related sectors and officialdom will be one of our priorities,” he said.

The new team will work closely with previous CEO, Dr Jim Edwards, over the next few weeks to ensure a smooth transition as of 1 September.

The position of executive secretary has been filled by Jessica Williams, also of FWC.
