Finalists in Bayer Innovators Awards revealed
Top New Zealand innovators have been selected by judges as finalists in this year’s prestigious Bayer Innovators Awards.
The awards recognise top innovators in the fields of Science and Health, Design and Engineering, Agriculture and Environment, Research and Development; and Information Technology and Communications (ICT).
Today Bayer announced the top three finalists in the Information & Communications Technology category. Over the next couple of weeks finalists from other categories will be announced.
“We had many great entries that demonstrated unsurpassed levels of kiwi ingenuity”, says William Malpass, corporate communications manager at Bayer New Zealand.
“With innovations ranging from back shed pioneering spirit, to unique advances in medical innovation and technologies that help us to predict human behaviour, the judges definitely had some hard decisions to make when choosing this year’s finalists.
“The purpose of the Bayer Innovators Awards is to recognise and acknowledge New Zealand innovators who are hard at work in a range of disciplines. Innovators provide the engine of growth for both society and the economy and the basis for future developments,” adds Mr Malpass.
“We look forward to celebrating the finalists’ achievements and announcing the winner of each category at a special awards ceremony in Auckland on 25 August 2009.”
