Trade Me Jobs Beats Seek On Pages
Trade Me Jobs has officially passed Seek, delivering 15 million domestic page impressions for July 2009*. By comparison Seek received 14.5 million page impressions for the same period*.
This is understood to be the first time any competitor has overtaken Seek on a key measure of market leadership.
“Becoming New Zealand’s #1 site by local page impressions is a huge milestone for us. 12 months ago, we were 25% adrift. This achievement means it’s reasonable to assume that Kiwis view more jobs on Trade Me Jobs than on any other job site,” said Head of Trade Me Jobs, Jimmy McGee.
“The web is unique in that ‘depth’ of use can be measured. The best measure is page impressions or the number of pages viewed, so it’s a particularly important occasion for us.”
“Our focus on the basics has made this possible. By providing great value to advertisers, we’ve seen an increase in the employers and recruiters using the site. Greater selection of jobs and better integration with the core Trade Me site has resulted in a surge in use by job seekers.”
“Our next goal is to beat Seek on local unique browsers. We’re well on track to do this by the end of the year.”
Ends.
