Paul Muckleston appointed Microsoft Business, Marketing and Operations Director

AUCKLAND, New Zealand — July 15, 2009 — Microsoft New Zealand today announced the appointment of Paul Muckleston as director business, marketing and operations. He will take up the role in late August.

Currently based in Germany Muckleston will return to Auckland to lead a team responsible for Microsoft New Zealand’s product marketing, public relations, marketing communications, advertising and business planning.

“Paul is a great example of a skilled Kiwi who has made the most of his time within a multi national organisation,” said Kevin Ackhurst, managing director, Microsoft New Zealand. “The experience Paul has gained within Microsoft in Europe will greatly benefit New Zealand, we’re pleased to welcome him home to such a senior role.”

Paul joined Microsoft in 1996 had has held a variety of roles in New Zealand, France and Germany. His previous role with Microsoft was general manager Central and Eastern Europe for Small & Mid Market, Solutions & Partners.

Based in Munich he was responsible for 24 subsidiaries acorss 33 countries employing more than 500 staff. He has experience in leadership, management, sales, marketing, strategy and business development functions in new ventures & mature businesses. He has spent time in high and low growth markets, developed and emerging markets, multi-country and single country, line and staff roles. He also has experience in implementing some of Microsoft’s global corporate social responsibility initiatives.

Muckleston holds a Bachelor of Business Studies and a post graduate diploma in business administration from Massey University.
