Medical technology company gains top Canterbury export award
10 July 2009. Christchurch, New Zealand– On Wednesday evening Enztec Limited, part of Orthopaedic Synergy, Inc, was recognised as 2009 Export New Zealand Canterbury Large Exporter of the Year.
“It is a tribute to the work of the outstanding group of staff we have at Enztec, and to some degree a reflection of the fact that the global orthopaedics industry is still holding up well in this recession,” said Enztec General Manager Steve O’Neill.
“Enztec operates in an intensely competitive global market in which the talent and commitment of our staff makes a real difference.
“It also helps that demographics are driving up demand for orthopaedic procedures like hip and knee replacements worldwide.”
Mr O’Neill said the company was expecting strong growth again in 2009, “Our ability to respond quickly to the demands of the market with innovative, quality products continues to be a key to our success.”
The award follows up an outstanding 2008, where Enztec was awarded the Deal of the Year at the 2008 Export Awards, listed on the Deloitte Fast 50 Index and formed a joint venture called Orthopaedic Synergy, Inc with US-based orthopaedic company OMNI life science.
