A New ‘New World’ For Tokoroa

NEWS RELEASE

9 July 2009

A New ‘New World’ For Tokoroa

Foodstuffs (Auckland) Limited is pleased to announce plans to build a new generation New World store to replace the current store in Tokoroa.

“New World has been in the Tokoroa community for almost 40 years and we are delighted to confirm our ongoing investment in the town” says Foodstuffs (Auckland) General Manager – Property Strategy Angela Bull. “The new New World store will be approximately 25% bigger than the current store and with a new modern design. We will be applying for a resource consent for this new supermarket later this year. The new store will be located next to the existing New World, which will continue to trade during the construction of the new store.”

Angela Bull says the news is exciting for the residents of Tokoroa, and the redevelopment of the New World supermarket will be a significant investment, with construction of the new store costing many millions of dollars.

All Foodstuffs stores are 100% New Zealand-owned and operated. Foodstuffs brands include PAK’nSAVE, New World, Four Square, Gilmours, Duffy & Finn’s and Liquorland.
