Dell Expands Global Partnerdirect Programme To New Zealand

Dell today announced PartnerDirect, its global channel programme that helps partners increase profitability and deliver greater value, in New Zealand.

“This is an exciting time for New Zealand customers,” said Rob Makin, director of Channel Strategy and Acquisition for Dell Australia and New Zealand. “This much-anticipated launch offers new opportunities to the New Zealand channel, while also expanding Dell’s footprint in New Zealand. We look forward to collaborating with local partners to help them grow and become even more profitable and competitive, while in the process strengthening local relationships.”

PartnerDirect provides channel partners with the advantages of Dell’s technology and supply-chain expertise. The simple programme reduces administrative burdens on partners and enables them to make the most of opportunities for their customers and themselves by dealing directly with Dell. Deal registration and a channel-neutral sales compensation plan are also in place to minimise channel conflict. Minimum value for deal registration is NZ$20,000.

“PartnerDirect offers partners simplicity, predictability and choice, and we plan to build on our clear differentiation,” said Makin. “What we have learned is the partners that experience it, prefer it.”

PartnerDirect offers partners several advantages, including:

Build-to-order custom configuration and custom factory integration;

Drop-ship capability;

A broad range of industry-leading technology;

Online expertise and a single point of accountability.

Features of PartnerDirect

Unlike industry-standard programs with high revenue thresholds, multiple tiers, and time-intensive back-end rebate programs, PartnerDirect offers two competitive partnership options Registered Partner and Certified Partner. Details of both are as follows:

Registered Partner

Includes training and support around Dell technology.

Delivers basic benefits including logo usage, along with access to Dell’s partner website for online ordering, deal registration, marketing materials, IT white papers and financing options.

Certified Partner

A higher level of engagement for solution providers who want more developed relationships with Dell.

In addition to Registered Partner benefits, Certified Partners can take advantage of demonstration units; field-based account management; and enhanced financing options, deal registration, and event and technical support.

Provides access to Dell channel marketing managers for assistance with marketing plans, ensuring that they’re aligned with and leverage Dell’s marketing activities.

The first certification available to New Zealand partners will be Enterprise Architecture. Through this certification, partners gain additional expertise in key Dell enterprise products and solutions, including servers, storage, virtualization, computing flexibility and energy efficiency.

"Our goal is to deliver the best solutions to address our customers' needs, and that best solution often includes Dell," said Steve Harris, Technical Director and Owner, Business Technology Group (BTG) New Zealand.
