(Auckland –6 July 2009)
The Langham, Auckland is pleased to announce that Multi-Media Systems Ltd is the new audiovisual provider to the luxury hotel as of 1 July, 2009.
Janine Daniel, Director of Events and Conferences, says that Multi-Media will play an integral part in the hotel’s latest project, The Great Room at The Langham, which will have the capacity to seat 900 guests banquet style and 1400 guests theatre style. The facility is due to open fully in February 2010.
“Multi-Media are already working closely with our architects and designers to ensure their AV capabilities are included in the design of this new conference venue. The Great Room will be very elegant but also extremely versatile for events ranging from gala dinners, conferences with plenary and break out areas and trade shows,” says Ms Daniel.
The 1200 square metre room will showcase over 100 remote controlled pin spotlights in the roof, six large electronic screens, wireless internet connection, electronic signage and an integrated sound system – to name but a few of the extensive AV features of The Great Room.
Damian Wong, Managing Director of Multi-Media, says that the family owned New Zealand company is equally excited about working with The Langham – one of only two members of The Leading Hotels of the World in New Zealand.
“We are delighted to be awarded this contract especially with the development of such a dynamic and large scale project and for Multi-Media to have such a key role from its inception. These days it is vital that conference and event organisers’ expectations are met when it comes to staging sophisticated presentations and corporate productions. Multi-Media have proven that we are adept at using a wide range of technology such as internet based video conferencing, webcasting, audio, visual, lighting, props and other special effects to create the kind of world class sensory experience you would expect from The Langham,” says Mr Wong.
In keeping with the rest of the sumptuous hotel, the interior design of The Great Room will be carried out by Raj Designs who have recently completed the hotel’s Chuan Spa. The renowned interior of The Langham’s lobby and soft furnishings will be translated into a timeless experience with lush yet versatile colour palettes and fabrics - and of course the hotel’s signature chandeliers.
“We are very excited about opening The Great Room at The Langham as it will bring a true five-star conference venue and ballroom to Auckland and New Zealand,” concludes Ms Daniel.
