Two Harcourts North Shore franchises merge

MEDIA RELEASE

Two Harcourts North Shore franchises merge

30 June 2009: Two of Harcourts’North Shore franchises, Cooper & Co Real Estate and Top Bays Realty Ltd are merging – combining forces to create a formidable group with seven offices and around 140 residential, lifestyle and commercial sales consultants.

Effective tomorrow the merger will see the two companies combine sales forces and resources and Top Bays’ Browns Bay and Campbells Bay offices being rebranded as Cooper & Co branches.

Martin Cooper, the Managing Director of Cooper & Co, which operates Harcourts offices in Takapuna, Milford, Glenfield, Devonport and Albany, says the shareholders in both companies see the merger as a great opportunity to work more closely together and to build on their respective businesses’ success.

“The two companies have worked alongside each other for around 10 years but we recognise that to achieve even greater success in the competitive North Shore property market it makes sense to combine forces,” he says.

“By merging we can achieve economies of scale and combine our strengths to benefit not just our own teams but also our customers throughout the North Shore.”

Top Bays Principal Graeme Udy, who has more than 35 years experience in the real estate industry, says the synergies created by the merger will help the combined team to dominate the North Shore market.

“We want Harcourts to be number one on the North Shore and by working together as one team we are confident we can achieve that shared goal as we’ll be a stronger, larger team and we’ll be able benefit from each others’skills, knowledge and resources.”
