Employment Agreement ratified at Ports of Auckland

Union members today voted to ratify a Collective Employment Agreement between Ports of Auckland and the Maritime Union of New Zealand – Local 13 (MUNZ).

Managing Director Jens Madsen is delighted that an agreement has been ratified.

“The stability and surety that today’s agreement will create is good news for all involved,” Mr Madsen said.

“The agreement will deliver a fair deal for staff, a settled internal operating environment and ongoing commercial stability for the company.”

“I’d like to thank our customers for their support and patience during what have been protracted and complex negotiations.”

The previous MUNZ Collective Employment Agreement expired on 30 November 2006.

Around 300 staff are covered by the Collective Employment Agreement.
