Screen Directors Guild Supports Ministerial Review Of New Zealand Film Commission
The Screen Directors Guild of New Zealand welcomes the choice of Peter Jackson to lead the ministerial review of the New Zealand Film Commission.
The review was announced yesterday by Minister for Arts, Culture and Heritage, Hon Christopher Finlayson.
Screen Directors Guild executive director, Anna Cahill, congratulated and thanked Peter Jackson for taking on the sizeable task of leading the review.
“Having an active director, writer and producer leading the review is an exciting aspect of a review that will help to position our industry for the future.
“The legislation governing the New Zealand Film Commission is more than 30 years old. The Film Commission plays an essential role in the success of New Zealand film and it is important that New Zealand can continue to respond to the challenges and opportunities facing the New Zealand film industry.
“We look forward to participating in the review.”
