Congratulations John Todd – Well Deserved!

Philanthropy New Zealand offers it congratulations to John Todd on being awarded the Companion of the Order of New Zealand.

Philanthropy New Zealand Chief Executive, Robyn Scott, says this Queen’s Birthday honour recognises John’s great generosity.

“John and his family have been giving to communities throughout New Zealand for over 40 years. His family foundation; the Todd Foundation, has been at the forefront of some wonderful innovative work supporting families and children in particular.

Philanthropy New Zealand Chair, John Prendergast, says this honour is also recognition of the value of philanthropy and giving in New Zealand, and recognises the giving of one of the founders of Philanthropy New Zealand:

“It does make a difference to many people’s lives. Philanthropy and especially family philanthropy, can play a significant role in assisting to develop solutions to some of our most complex problems.

Philanthropists like John Todd are able to, and do, take more risks and try new things. There are many successful projects happening around the country today that would not exist if people like John Todd were not committed to supporting the groups and individuals working with those who are most vulnerable.”
Robyn Scott says John Todd thoroughly deserves this honour.

“I know philanthropy new Zealand members that have worked with John over the years both in the business and philanthropic arena will join me in offering our warm congratulations.

John goes about his philanthropy in a thoughtful, quiet way. We were privileged to have him share his experience at our recent conference. His wisdom, passion and commitment to thoughtfully making a difference was truly inspiring.”
