Cure Kids Charity Appoints New Chief Executive

Cure Kids Charity Appoints New Chief Executive

May 29 2009: Cure Kids has appointed experienced businesswoman Vicki Lee as its new Chief Executive. The appointment was confirmed and announced to staff this week.

Cure Kids is the public face of the NZ Child Health Research Foundation which funds vital research into children’s life threatening illnesses.

Ms Lee brings a wealth of experience in Healthcare Communications, Medical Education, Advertising, Marketing and Publishing in both Australia and New Zealand. She also has extensive expertise in the not for profit/charity sector having been involved with a number of charities on both sides of the Tasman, including holding Board positions.

Cure Kids Chairman Roy Austin says “we are excited to have attracted a person of Vicki’s calibre and talent. She brings commercial and charity expertise to the role and we believe she is the ideal person to lead Cure Kids in to its next phase.”

Ms Lee is looking forward to the new challenge. “I am looking forward to getting up every day knowing that everything I do will go towards helping cure kids.”

“At the end of the day it is all about the kids. The Cure Kids catchphrase ‘turning research in to hope’ says it all. I will do everything I can to ensure we continue to raise vital funds for researchers, without whom we could not achieve the breakthroughs necessary to improve quality of life and or save children’s lives, in New Zealand and around the world.”

Ms Lee, who replaces former CEO Kaye Parker who will continue to work with Cure Kids as an Executive Director, will be located in the Cure Kids Auckland offices in Newton and officially takes up the position on June 3.
