"Insulation budget" delivers more than warmth

Auckland, 28 May 2009 –

"Insulation budget" already delivers more than warmth for one Kiwi business

Autex Industries New Zealand, a kiwi owned company with more than 40 years experience in the building industry, has already committed to employing more staff ahead of the Government’s budget announcement today.

Details revealed on Wednesday about the insulation subsidy scheme have accelerated Autex’s business development plans.

Robert Croot, Autex National Sales Manager says, “This really is great news for New Zealand manufacturing and specifically our business. The initiative will provide us with the market stability to employ new staff and invest in our New Zealand operating company.

“I have already received sign-off to employ three more staff in production, administration and the sales team.”

Autex is a New Zealand-based manufacturing and product development company specialising in textiles and advanced fibre technology. It already employees 100 staff in New Zealand and a further 90 in Australia.

The Government initiative which has been developed in consultation with the Green party, will also allow Autex to continue its strong growth of ‘fibre-friendly’ insulation products developed and manufactured in New Zealand.

“A minimum of 45 per cent of the polyester fibre in our GreenStuf and QuietStuf insulation products is made from recycled PET plastic, including plastic bottles and bags. These are manufactured using a low-energy production process and are currently exported to more than 20 countries,” says Mr. Croot.

The real winners in this are the home owners, says Mr. Croot, “Insulation is the single most effective way to keep your home warm, save energy and save money. Now that studies show there is a direct link between insulation in homes and the health of occupants, it just makes sense to fix the problem”.
