Kumuka Worldwide are offering a 5 per cent discount on Antarctica Explorations booked and paid in full by  May 31.

Prices on an 11-day exploration of the Antarctica Peninsula start from NZ$8,780 per person.

Departures run from November to March, during the Antarctic summer when the sun barely sets. Leaving the world's southernmost city, Ushuaia, passengers cruise through the scenic Beagle Channel and into the Drake Passage. The first stop is the South Shetland Islands and then it’s on to the Antarctic Peninsula. Along the way passengers will make landings aboard zodiac rafts and learn about the geology, history and geography of the area.

Antarctica's rich waters teem with an abundance of wildlife. Passengers are likely to see several varieties of penguin, Antarctic fur seals, cormorants and petrels, as well as killer and humpback whales.
