Tapping into Asia’s Booming e-Healthcare Industry
For New Zealand technology companies looking to tap into Asia’s lucrative healthcare and medical industry, Hong Kong’s International Medical Devices and Supplies Fair, 4-6 November, is a golden opportunity.
Launched in 2006 as Asia’s trade platform for the region’s booming healthcare industry, the fair last year featured 113 exhibitors from 20 countries and regions. About 6,700 trade buyers from 64 countries and regions attended, along with more than 80,000 members of the public, who were allowed to take part during the fair’s last days.
Ms. Bonnie Shek Director of Hong Kong Trade Development Council (Australia / NZ) mentions “The latest technology, products and services in every sector will be on offer, from health and dental care to pharmaceuticals, physiotherapy and industry-specific computer products, software and database systems. This is a great chance for Australian companies to showcase their latest technological products and services in e-health”
In previous years the NZ Pavilion has consisted of medical technology companies showcasing their latest designs, software, products and services at the Fair, included Comvita New Zealand Limited, Zephyr Technology Ltd, Adept Medical Limited and ARANZ Medical Limited
Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the Hong Kong International Medical Devices and Supplies Fair, will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Ms Bonnie Shek adds “Last year, Hong Kong imported NZD$1.58 billion in medical and healthcare equipment from around the world, a 10.1 per cent increase over the previous year. New Zealand contributed NZD$4.7million in medical and healthcare exports to Hong Kong, which has seen a 40% growth since 2004”
