ACCOR Announces Two Senior Appointments For Hospitality

Accor is pleased to announce the appointment of Zayne Boon to two major roles: Area Manager – Wellington & South Island Hotels and General Manager Novotel Christchurch Cathedral Square.
Boon joined Accor in 1992 and has held a number of General Manager roles in Australia and New Zealand, most recently as General Manager Novotel Wellington and Area Manager – Wellington Hotels, with extended responsibility for some of Accor’s East Coast South Island hotels.
Boon’s new role as Area Manager for Accor’s Wellington and South Island hotels will see him take on a portfolio of 15 properties across the Grand Mercure, Novotel, Mercure, Ibis and All Seasons brands.
Boon says he is excited about taking on the challenge of both new roles.
“Novotel Christchurch Cathedral Square is going to be a real asset to the city and is unique in that it is a brand new build, but will also incorporate and restore the beautiful heritage listed Warner’s Historic Hotel,” says Boon.
“With growth in both domestic and international tourism to Christchurch over the last few years, Novotel Christchurch Cathedral Square will bring some fresh energy to the accommodation sector, and the hotel’s state-of-the-art meeting and conference facilities means it is also an excellent new offering for the corporate market.”
Due to open in October, the hotel will feature 193 rooms with modern décor and flat screen televisions, flexible meeting and conference facilities, restaurant and bar, gymnasium, personalised check in and free Apple Mac stations. The location right on Cathedral Square means guests will be close to dining, shopping, entertainment and many attractions.
“As Area Manager, I am looking forward to working with such a diverse group of hotels across five very different brands and to be a part of Accor’s ongoing developments in these regions.”
