Flight Centre, New Zealand’s largest travel retailer has today released the best value-for-money destinations around the world, ensuring Kiwis can still take a break in spite of the challenging economic situation.

Flight Centre’s spokesperson, Marie Pilkington said it is important for Kiwis to still have the option to take a holiday and believes it’s simply about taking a different approach during these times.

“Each year most Kiwis take a holiday either within New Zealand or abroad and we believe it is important to give Kiwis a range of options so they can still take their well deserved holiday again this year.

“We have researched destinations across the globe to bring Kiwis a range of options that will ensure their dollar goes further when they arrive,” said Ms Pilkington.

Ms Pilkington went on to say that despite the dip in the Kiwi dollar, many long-haul destinations are still popular due to the exceptional value to travellers at this time.

Flight Centre’s 2009 Travel Expos saw approximately 30,000 people visiting the three shows around New Zealand, the highest number of visitors since the expo’s inception.

“To have record numbers visit our expos, given the current economic climate, is an extremely positive result and a great sign for the travel industry this year. This shows Kiwis are still travelling and are interested in travel in 2009,” said Ms Pilkington.
