Taranaki Passport key to region’s best attractions

A new Passport to Taranaki’s top visitor attractions has proven popular since its launch on Taranaki Anniversary Weekend.

The Taranaki Passport campaign, being run by Venture Taranaki, aims to encourage more Taranaki residents and visitors to the region to get out and experience Taranaki. The Passport includes hot deals at 26 of the region’s best attractions, in a campaign running until June.

“Taranaki has many great attractions that people either aren’t aware of or haven’t visited in years,” says Venture Taranaki Tourism Leader Paul Stancliffe.

“The Taranaki Passport aims to fix that, by providing information, hot deals and prizes to get more Taranaki people to Taranaki’s attractions, and a guide to the region’s best for those visiting Taranaki.”

“Each attraction has a unique stamp that will be added to the Passport. Every stamp collected gets the passport holder an entry into a draw for a mystery family Taranaki weekend package. Those that visit 15 or more attractions and collect the stamps will also receive a Taranaki gift.”

“The campaign runs across three holidays – Taranaki Anniversary, Easter and Queen’s Birthday Weekend, so there is really no excuse for the people of Taranaki to get out and experience more of our wonderful region,” Paul says.

“It is clearly proving popular, with well over a thousand Passports being distributed in the first three days of the campaign.”

The Passport is available through Taranaki’s three i-Site information centres at New Plymouth, Stratford, and Hawera as well as the local tourism operators involved in the campaign.

The campaign started on Saturday 7 March and finishes on 1 June.
