Further Power Cuts In Auckland Unlikely

Further Power Cuts In Auckland Unlikely

A second transformer has been brought back into service at the Penrose Substation.

The repair work was ahead of schedule following continuous work over two nights.

Having two transformers in operation minimises the need for any power cuts today
and the chance of the second transformer failing is low.

The failure of a cable termination on a transformer at Otahuhu is an unrelated to
issue to Penrose. This is under repair and there is no impact to consumers.
