Air New Zealand withdraws Christchurch Airport court action
Christchurch International Airport Ltd and Air New Zealand have today announced that the airline has withdrawn its application for judicial review of the airport terminal development project.
Outgoing CIAL Chief Executive Rene Bakx welcomed the decision saying both parties had considered the judicial review to be a backstop measure only.
“We’ve worked hard to address various concerns about the project and will continue to work closely together to ensure the project is a success,” Mr Bakx said.
Air New Zealand deputy Chief Executive Norm Thompson said the decision opened the way for the parties to continue working constructively on the project.
Some final details of the terminal development project will be refined in the coming weeks.
