FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
18 December 2008

New Additions At Wanaka’s Grand Mercure Oakridge Resort
New Restaurant, Gymnasium and Lap Pool for Guests and Locals

Grand Mercure Oakridge Resort Wanaka will soon welcome guests to its brand new Poolhouse Restaurant and Bar, overlooking the landscaped heated rock pool complex the hotel is renowned for.

The restaurant offers indoor and al fresco dining with the Southern Alps as a stunning backdrop and a stylish contemporary design. The Poolhouse features a combination of stylish summer cuisine and tapas style platters ideal for sharing, all created using the finest local ingredients and produce. The menu is complemented by an extensive wine list with a wide range of Central Otago, New Zealand and international wines.

At the official opening for the public, from 9am on Saturday 20 December, the hotel will also be showing off a newly built onsite Phyzique gymnasium and a new 25 metre, three-lane heated lap pool.

The lap pool is perfect for guests wanting to stretch their limbs after a day exploring or on the slopes and is the newest edition to the pool complex, which has two large leisure pools and seven hot tubs landscaped in rock and alpine tussock. Visitors and locals can also enjoy the pools for a minimal charge.

The Phyzique gymnasium features the latest equipment, personal training facilities and a range of exercise classes. Use of the gym is complimentary for all hotel guests, however memberships are also available for locals.
