Hotel Ibis Tainui Hamilton Turns One Today
Hotel Ibis Tainui
Hamilton celebrates its first birthday today, marking the
successful integration of the hotel into the Hamilton
market.
The hotel was newly built in 2007 and is a joint venture between Hamilton City Council, Tainui Group Holdings - the business arm of the Tainui tribe - and the Accor group. It is Hamilton's first Ibis hotel, Accor's international 3 star brand, and joins Accor's global network of more than 4,000 hotels in nearly 100 countries.
Hotel Manager Philip Hilton says it has been a very busy but very exciting year.
"It has taken a lot of hard work by a lot of people to create a brand new hotel and to make these first 12 months so successful. That hard work has paid off and the feedback we've had from guests has been overwhelmingly positive."
A strong relationship with local organisations and authorities and a number of world class events in Hamilton has also helped the hotel to develop a good client base of multi-national companies and domestic corporate travellers, while still offering a great base for leisure travellers. The hotel has extensive purpose-built facilities created to cater for a wide range of functions, conferences and meetings with flexible options for different occasions.
The hotel offers modern new rooms, a location overlooking the Waikato River and is close to SkyCity Casino, local shopping and a wide range of restaurants, cafes and bars. The hotel's own onsite café and restaurant boasts indoor and al fresco dining overlooking the river.
Says Mr Hilton: "It's great to be celebrating our first year and we will continue to strive to provide the best product and service in the years to come."
Accor, a major global group and the European leader in hotels, as well as the global leader in services to corporate clients and public institutions, operates in nearly 100 countries with 150,000 employees. It offers to its clients over 40 years of expertise in two core businesses:
- Hotels, with the Sofitel, Pullman, MGallery, Novotel, Mercure, Suitehotel, Ibis, all seasons, Etap Hotel, Formule 1 and Motel 6 brands, representing 4,000 hotels and nearly 500,000 rooms in 90 countries, as well as strategically related activities, such as Lenôtre;
- Services, with 30 million people in 40 countries benefiting from Accor Services products in employee and public benefits, rewards and loyalty, and expense management.
