Care Chemist Announces Seven New Franchises In New Zealand

Care Chemist Services Ltd has established seven new franchises in New Zealand, taking the Life Pharmacy (LPL) owned community-based pharmacy franchise group another step closer to its goal of having 34 branded pharmacies by the end of March, 2009. The latest franchises have been established in Northcote, Pakuranga, New Lynn, Titahi Bay, Waitangirua, Glen Eden and Roslyn, in Dunedin.

According to Care Chemist CEO, Nicolette McDonald, pharmacists are attracted to the Care Chemist model by the forward thinking attitude of the group and the potential for growth, among other benefits.

‘The last three franchisees that we teamed up with achieved average growth of 32% over the first 6 months,’ says Nicolette. ‘Such an impressive result is down to such sales driving initiatives as our VIP Club loyalty programme, as well as the comprehensive marketing plans that we offer our franchise holders. The positive attitude of our group of pharmacists also plays a huge part in our success.’

‘Pharmacists also benefit from the systems that we have in place at Care Chemist. For example, we now provide online training for specific health conditions. The online training programme, which is the only NZ based system of its kind, means that pharmacy staff are fully informed and are able to provide their clientele with the highest possible standard of service and care.’

The pharmacies were selected based on location, the personality of the pharmacist and their ability to live up to the Care Chemist brand promise:

All of our new pharmacists have very warm and welcoming personalities,’ explains Nicolette. ‘They enjoy interacting with their customers and helping them to discover ways to manage their medical conditions or stop them occurring in the first place. They are all very enthusiastic about their role as ‘health coach’ to the local community.’

‘That is what we are striving for at Care Chemist,’ adds Nicolette. ‘Focusing on the customer and providing them with a superior professional healthcare service.’
