Rosebank Workers Return to the Picket Line

Media Release

Rosebank Workers Return to the Picket Line

Members of the New Zealand Nurses Organisation (NZNO) who work at Rosebank a residential aged care facility in Ashburton will be having a second three hour picket from 12noon – 3pm on Thursday 6th November outside Rosebank on Walnut Avenue in Ashburton to protest the shameful offer from their employer and their employers refusal to commit to the bargaining table.

In October a picket was held by workers to highlight the unjust offer from their employer of a 1.2% pay increase in exchange for an agreement to reduce staff hours. This is despite the fact that the employer will receive a 3.3% funding increase from the government. “Our members are keen to return to the bargaining table to resume the negotiations but the employer is refusing to commit to a date to resume bargaining!” Steve Howard, NZNO Organiser said.
