Netsuite Eyes Huge Opportunity For On-Demand In Australasia; Expands Operations In New Zealand And Australian Markets
Leading Provider of SaaS Business Management Software Suites for ERP, CRM and Ecommerce Grows Regional Footprint to
Support Rapid Growth
Latest Customer Wins—Carbon Planet, EcoNova, Netcat, Healthinc—Signal SaaS Applications Are Top Choice for Fast-Growing,
Mid-Market Companies
SYDNEY, 17 September 2008 – NetSuite Inc. (NYSE: N), a leading vendor of on-demand, integrated business management software suites for mid-market
enterprises and divisions of large companies, today announced the details of NetSuite’s expansion in Australia and the
introduction of NetSuite OneWorld to the Australian and New Zealand markets (please see accompanying press release).
NetSuite also announced several of its latest customer wins in the region, including up-and-coming Australian businesses
such as Carbon Planet, EcoNova, Netcat and Healthinc.
NetSuite Australia, established in April 2007, has experienced exponential growth in the region fueled by the growing
adoption of Software as a Service (SaaS). According to Springboard Research, Australia is the largest and most mature
SaaS market in the Asia-Pacific region. Springboard estimates that Asia-Pacific SaaS revenues will grow from US$274
million in 2007 to around US$1.8 billion by 2011. The industry analyst firm Gartner estimates the Asia-Pacific SaaS
market is growing twice as fast as the market for traditional on-premise applications.
“The growing demand among businesses in Australia and New Zealand for on-demand business management software is fuelling
our local growth,” said Zach Nelson, CEO of NetSuite. “We see huge potential for our offering in this region as
NetSuite’s on-demand solutions provide a cost-effective yet powerful way for Australian and New Zealand businesses to
manage their entire operations with one integrated product.”
In addition to office and employee expansion in the region, NetSuite is also growing its distribution partner network.
NetSuite recently signed a multi-million dollar OEM agreement with solutions provider Brennan to provide mid-sized
Australian companies with NetSuite’s integrated business management software. NetSuite’s other Australian partner is
NetReturn, which offers a popular ERP / accounting solution for small businesses in the Australian and New Zealand
markets. NetReturn recommends NetSuite to its customers as they grow into mid-sized businesses.
NetSuite OneWorld
NetSuite OneWorld, announced in the U.S. earlier this year, makes real-time, global business management feasible by
combining a mature, multi-company business application suite with cloud computing delivery. Built from the ground up as
one system that includes ERP, CRM and Ecommerce, NetSuite OneWorld enables mid-market businesses with multiple
subsidiaries, business units and legal entities to manage local operations across multiple locations, and roll the data
up for regional and global visibility in their currency of choice.
Australian Customer Wins
The new customer wins announced today include:
Carbon Planet
Carbon Planet (www.carbonplanet.com), based in Adelaide, SA, is a global carbon management company whose mission is to enable every individual and business
to manage their contribution to global warming. “We know that we are going to be global and need access to our business
from anywhere," said Remco Marcelis, CFO, Carbon Planet. "NetSuite's browser-based approach will play a huge part in
enabling us to grow while managing our total cost of ownership."
EcoNova
EcoNova (www.econova.com.au), based in Nambour, QLD, is a producer of water purification and reclamation infrastructure. "Seeing that NetSuite could
manage our sales as well as accounting, we realised it would be beneficial to have one integrated system," said
Christian Uhrig, Director of Marketing and Sales. "NetSuite supports our need to give every user and outside business
partner appropriate access to the system. That was a key feature for us, and one which will make it possible for us to
roll out into new countries in a matter of weeks instead of years."
Netcat
Netcat (www.netcat.biz), based in North Sydney, NSW, is a developer of content management systems (CMS) and knowledge transfer software for
government and legal clients. "As we look at establishing more overseas entities, we feel comfortable knowing that our
accounting and operations will be stable,” said Sandra D'Souza, Chief Financial and Operations Officer. “NetSuite makes
it easier for us to focus on the next steps of growing our business."
Healthinc.
Healthinc (www.healthinc.com.au), based in Newport Beach, NSW, is a provider of software solutions for the radiology industry. "NetSuite's local support
can't be praised highly enough—they have been very accessible and worked tirelessly to solve our business challenges,”
said Raymond Close, Financial Controller. “And now with NetSuite, having a central repository of customer records has
helped us get better control over our client engagements. Our salespeople are much better informed and can see where
they are headed against their monthly targets, and our people in the field find it much easier to log expenses and get
reimbursed, no matter where they are. The advantages of NetSuite's SaaS architecture and Web access have been enormous."
