Shell drops the price of petrol and diesel

ATTENTION NEWS ROOMS

• Shell has dropped the price of petrol by 4 cents per litre and diesel by 6 cents per litre effective 12noon today, Wednesday 17 September.
• Shell fuel is now priced at:
· Ultra 91 = 195.9 (down 4cpl)
· V - Power = 200.9 (down 4cpl)
· Diesel = 159.9 (down 6cpl)

• While crude oil has been steadily decreasing, we are now also seeing this decrease flow through into the cost of refined product.
• The fluctuating New Zealand dollar has not been helpful, and it has prevented Shell being able to pass on any savings to Kiwi motorists sooner as we purchase both crude and refined product in US dollars.
• Shell has led the last seven consecutive price decreases. The last price decrease was on 19 August.
