The Companies Office Register that Fits in Your Pocket
The Companies Office has announced the launch of a company search service for internet enabled mobile phones accessible from http://m.companies.govt.nz.
Companies Office Group Manager Justin Hygate said this new service will empower the New Zealand business community to make informed decisions at anytime, from anywhere.
“Extending the data held on the New Zealand Companies Office Register to any internet enabled mobile device provides business people with the flexibility required to make decisions in today’s business environment” says Hygate.
The Companies Office recognises the important role that mobile technology plays and is committed to developing a mobile platform from which more complex transactions can be made. The introduction of mobile search services is the first stage deployment of a suite of mobile services from the Companies Office branded as ‘Companies Office Mobile’.
“The decision to extend our current mobile offering has been made in response to the willingness of New Zealand businesses to engage with the Companies Office using mobile technology. Over 160,000 companies choose to subscribe to our free text annual return reminder. This illustrates that our clients are happy to connect with us via a direct and relevant channel" says Hygate, " When coupled with the ability to file an annual return from any internet enabled mobile device, significant gains will be made in reducing compliance costs”.
The Companies Office’s commitment to delivering mobile services extends to the Personal Property Securities Register where a TXTB4UBUY service enables people to identify whether a security interest is held over a motor vehicle. Using technology to empower New Zealanders to make informed decisions without the constraints of being tied to traditional technologies is a key objective of the Companies Office Mobile services.
Companies Office Mobile is available now, visit http://m.companies.govt.nz from your internet enabled mobile device or visit www.companies.govt.nz/mobile for more information.
