Post
06 August 2008 – Wellington
New Zealand Post
has today launched a new collectors stamp edition – the
A-Z of iconic Kiwi history and culture. In amongst A is for
Aotearoa, H is for Haka and W is for Weta, the high profile
alphabet includes ‘I is for Interislander’.
Each of the 26 stamp set has a different design and, according to NZ Post the Interislander stamp is based on the old Government Life Lighthouse Stamp Series.
“We are delighted that Interislander’s standing as an iconic Kiwi experience has been recognised by New Zealand Post,” comments media spokesman Nigel Parry.
The poster that accompanies the NZ Post stamp set includes describing the Interislander as ‘the floating bridge’ and commenting; ‘It is the most beautiful trip on earth’.
