Central Wellington six property package sold

Central Wellington six property package sold

1 July 2008: Following a huge amount of interest, a unique six-property package in an historic street in central Wellington has been sold.

Marketed by Lou Newman of Harcourts Khandallah office, the six properties, which are all on separate titles in Boston Terrace in Aro Valley, included four houses, ranging from a wonderful family home to a run down historic cottage, along with two bare sections.

Mr Newman says the superbly located properties, which had been owned for many years by three generations of the same family, were available for sale individually or as one, with both options attracting many offers.

"We ran a tender process that generated a huge amount of interest in the offering including from developers, investors, first home buyers and renovators.

"In the end all six properties were sold to a property investor and his wife who own property nearby and are aware of local residents' concerns about preserving the historic nature of the area," he says.

"Initially they plan just to tidy up the existing houses and to rent them out."

The properties sold are as follows:

* 11 & 13 Boston Terrace, each featuring adjoining one-bedroom heritage cottages;

* 19 Boston Terrace which features an excellent 3-4 bedroom family home with great views and a good section;

* 21 Boston Terrace which features a character two-bedroom home in need of redecoration and a separate sleep-out.

* 15 & 17 Boston Terrace - two empty sections.
